Offered here today for your consideration is this lovely antique porcelain mayonnaise or sauce serving bowl with matching underplate marked Prussian China Suhl Germany. That seldom seen bottom marking is found to be a trademark of the Erdmann Schlegelmilch Porcelain Factory of Suhl, Thuringia, Germany, better known as ES Prussia. It's a mark that was in use around the turn of the 20th Century. Decorative treatment here consists of applied transfer banding in green and gold with geometrical pattern around the rims of both the bowl and underplate. Additionally a pattern of applied gold filigree highlights the inner rim of the bowl as well as its exterior and the inner verge of the underplate. Our mayonnaise bowl measures about 5" across its rim and stands about 2.25" tall on three ball shaped feet. The underplate has diameter of about 5.75". This is a good looking ensemble that could easily be used for service of condiments, dressing, or sauces at the dinner table with the simple addition of your glass, porcelain, or silver ladle. Needless to say it's could be a great addition to almost any good curio collection of antique porcelain tableware.
Condition here is very good with both pieces of this lot found fully damage free, suffering no chips or cracks. We found no crazing of glaze, stain, or discoloration. No hard water deposits are noted. Both pieces are nicely translucent as fine porcelain is expected to be. Surface wear is minimal with the only issue to report being some expected loss of applied gold trim about the rims of both pieces. We did note some imperfection and irregularity of the applied transfer decor about the rims of both pieces. Inspect the photos carefully and you'll easily spot these small blemishes. In no way does it affect the usefulness of the set, though might be an interesting comment on the quality control, or lack thereof, in place way back when. All in all this is a nice looking set that presents well. We feel like it should easily please almost any hostess or collector.

Your shipment is at our risk until physically delivered to you. At our option we may choose to insure or not to insure a shipment based on value and durability of the item in question. Refunds will
