Description
7 inches high, 8.75 inches wide. This is not the typical "sheet brass" Bezalel menorah so often seen. It is made of thick brass, with equally thick candle holders, and not one, but two servant lights. The reverse has the type of Bezalel hallmark that is only found on the more expensive, much higher quality Bezalel objects. Condition: each servant light has cracks and old repairs at the connecting joints, including some lead solder.Shown in the Sotheby's photo is a very attractive, but by all means not rare sheet brass Bezalel menorah, which sold for ,000. I was able to locate only one other "high quality" example of this specific style Bezalel menorah, which is in the Jewish Museum of New York. Notice how that example is missing the servant light.
