    Description
: You are bidding on a charming antique collectible from Erdman Schlegelmilch porcelain that is about 100 years old. The dark tan you see on the piece is actually part of the artwork, no age damage or anything.  The piece features an intricately shaped dish with handles. The inside bottom of piece is that of an old sailing ship near the shore with some trees and sky in the background. There are hints of color along the sides of the dish, different, very light hues of cobalt and grays and lavender, just hints really and they make an interesting contrast against the white porcelain. The dish is from the early 1900’s and was made in Germany. The dish has the PROV SXE maker’s mark on the bottom and it has the ES for Erdmann Schlegelmilch. Our research indicates that this mark was used between 1902 and 1938. Overall this piece is in excellent condition. Amazingly there are no chips, cracks, chips, or repairs. The colors are still vibrant. The top rim has some very, very tiny wear marks in the rim edge finish that in no way distract from the beauty of the piece. There are also two spots on the right where the porcelain has two very small creases that were not smoothed out before it was glazed. Once again it does not distract from the quality and beauty of the piece, it actually gives it character and would be expected of a piece that is about 100 years old. The bottom of the piece has the hand written words “hand painted” in cursive lettering under the gaze under the maker’s mark. This outstanding piece will make a great addition to your collection at a great price and will be sure to appreciate in value over time. It is sure to become a family heirloom. We welcome any other questions or comments you may have via email to our store.
